The directory /var/wwww/html/Podcasts is a symbolic link to the directory /media/ExtbigData/Podcasts and the link was created using the following command: ln -s -t /var/www/html /media/ExtBigData/Podcasts I did this because /var/www/gtml is on the internal drive that only has 128 GB on it and could easily run out of space. The symbolic link alllws us to point to files located in a different location but act on them as though they are located here. NOTE that if you delete or edit a file inside this symbolic link the file in the original directory will actually be affected. I don't know what happens if you copy a file to the target directory though. I suspect that the file is actually copied to the original directory. I will try it now ... cp /home/manderpe/owntone.conf /media/ExtBigData/Podcasts Then look in both folders and presto the file is indeed shown in both folders so it copied the file to the /media/ExtbigData/Podcasts folder and thus is shown in /var/www/html/Podcasts which makes perfect sense. To remove the link use: rm /var/www/html/Podcasts which will simply delete the file and none of the files in /media/ExtBigData/Podcasts will be affected. When you add a Podcast you need to set it up in /media/ExtBigData/Podcasts and then it should appear automatically in /var/www/html/Podcasts. Make sure that the ownership of the files is manderpe:www-data and that permissions are 777. chown -R manderpe:www-data /media/ExtBigData/Podcasts chmod -R 777 /media/ExtBigData/Podcasts
